Hi, I'm Ryan O'Connor, Founder & Design Multiplier
A what? A design multiplier is a term I coined to help describe a way of amplifying and extending existing design services or adding new services to existing design practices - it's somewhere between a freelancer and a traditional consultant. We are a catalyst for your project.

My Background:
​
I have 15 years of experience in the design profession through various sized architecture firms, including the founding of a design / fabrication shop, three years as an adjunct faculty leading design studios, and over 7 years in a large experiential marketing agency as a Sr. Art Director focused on Experiential Architecture and visualizations. .
I have a Master's Degree in Architecture where I won the AIA Henry Adams Medal. I also have a Bachelor of Science in Architectural Studies and a Certificate of Urban Planning.

My passion lies in generating ideas, human experiences, and memorable spaces/places both digitally and physically. I do this by communicating design ideas/solutions through renderings, using new viewing technologies (VR) and exploring how innovation affects design and design profession. I am a highly skilled designer, visualizer, teacher/presenter and conceptual thinker.

Why did I start this?

I started Catalyst to share my unique skills with other design practitioners in the architecture, interior architecture & design and fabrication fields. I view this as partnership with you, the designer, and your already existing skill set. A way to amplify and extend your design services - like a catalyst . I believe this is a win-win for the client and the profession.
