Why should I use Co?
Because designing with the help of Co is a transparent process. This makes it easier to fit a project into your time-frame and budget. Co is setup with design experts working as your partner- because not all designs require a large firm, nor are they casual enough to just ask your friends. Maybe you too busy to design the space you want or you already know what you like but don’t know where to find it or how to incorporate it into what you’ve got. You choose how far you take the process.

How is Co different from those large firms?
Design firms tend to be all or nothing - meaning they want control of their process from start to finish, which requires larger projects/commissions or requires you to follow their timeline.
Our solution was to end the complex, murky, designer-based process and replace it with "open source" design tools for the client. A clear and simple route to solve design problems. These "open-source" tools are what I call Design Blocks.
How they work: First, they break-down the process into bite-sized "products/tools" that the client can purchase separately or together. Second, they list the exact deliverables that the client will get in each Block. You know what you are paying for.
This method of breaking down a large service or process is not new. Co's Design Blocks work just like other "services-as-products" businesses such as; hair salons, spas or health clubs. They break apart their services into tangible, unique products - such as: a haircut, curl & color, blow out or deep tissue massage, facial and hot stone therapy.
Is Co affordable?
Yes, At Co you are always in control of when to begin and end the design process. Since you are in a pay-as-you-go model using Design Blocks you can pause, stop, or re-start the process as it fits with your time-line and budget. This works because unlike large design firms, Co has very little overhead and we rely on an "on-demand" model of hiring design experts and consultants when needed. This method give you the best bang for you buck. Our rates are set up to offer the highest quality designs in the most efficient way. At Co we value good design and understand that great design ADDS value.
What kinds of spaces does Co design?
We’ve redesigned basements, undertaken renovations for homes, home additions, re-styled apartments, helped with wedding reception space layouts, new kitchens, office sculptures, lobby renovations, and more. We are ready for your challenge!
How do I get started?
Start right here! The first step is to book an Assessment and a design expert will be in contact with you. After the free assessment you will come away with a better idea of the design scope you need and what Design Blocks are needed to complete the task. It is then in your hands to book get the ball rolling and start booking design blocks as needed.
What about contractors?
Your design expert is happy to recommend a contractor they have worked with, but all contractors are third party and unaffiliated with Co. While we can’t guarantee their work, our experienced designers experts can work with contractors and help project manage their progress. As Co grows and we work with contractors regularly we will be able to offer better connections and price breaks.
How long will my project take?
Whatever a pace you’re comfortable with. If you have a tight deadline, by all means, let us know when you book your assessment. If you want to design at a leisurely pace, go for it. Your design expert will suggest a the number of Design Blocks (our unique design process) needed to complete the job and you use them when you need and pay as you go.
Our experts will work to maximize the value of your time, spending time on areas where their expertise is most valuable and making a space you love.
How should I work with my designer?
You and your design expert can decide how to work together so that it suits your schedule and your own DIY needs. We rely on that partnership and your commitment and help in carrying out the project.
Communicate however you prefer! Email, phone calls, texting… Pick your preference.
How do I get the most for my money/time?
Communicate! Be really clear about what you want and don’t want, what you love and what you hate. Come up with a list of “must-haves”, “maybe-haves” and “if-we-have-time’s”. The more your design expert knows about your taste, the more they can tailor their design decisions. If you hate industrial look, tell them! If you love modern farmhouse, tell them! If you have a vision of a new home but can only afford a new paint job, tell them and they help!
